PROTECTING YOUR PRIVACY IS IMPORTANT TO US. The directors, management, and staff of Patriot National Bank understand that our customers furnish sensitive information to the bank in the course of daily business and the bank is committed to treating such information responsibly. We know that our customers expect privacy and security for their personal and financial affairs and we will take all the necessary steps, maintaining physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards, to guard your non-public* personal information.

In order to provide you with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible, we use technology to manage and maintain information about you.

TYPES OF INFORMATION THE BANK COLLECTS
At Patriot National Bank we collect non-public* personal information about you from many sources, including the following:
  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others
  • Information we collect from third parties such as consumer-reporting agencies
* Non-public personal information is non-public information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. For example, this includes information regarding your account balance, payment history, and overdraft history.

TYPES OF INFORMATION THE BANK DISCLOSES

The bank does not now, nor does it intend in the future, to disclose any personal financial information to any nonaffiliated third party, except as permitted by law.

In order to improve service to our customers, we may share information about current or former customers within our family of affiliated businesses. By sharing this information, we can promote efficiencies and reduce costs to our customers. The type of information that we share may include the following:

  • Identification information, such as name, address, and telephone number
  • Transactional information
  • Deposit or loan account experience
  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms
  • Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency

Examples of the types of businesses we are or may become affiliated with are listed below:

  • Mortgage banking companies
  • Insurance companies
  • Brokerage companies
  • Finance companies

SERVICE PROVIDERS AND JOINT MARKETING VENTURES
The bank may disclose the following information to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others

The bank will enter into a written agreement with the third party that will require the third party to maintain the confidentiality of the information in the same manner the bank would and to restrict its use.

The bank will not provide your personal information to non-bank companies for the purpose of their independent telemarketing or direct mail marketing of any non-financial products or services.

SAFEGUARDING CUSTOMER INFORMATION
At Patriot National Bank we protect consumer privacy by ensuring that only employees who have a business reason for knowing information have access to it. The bank has appointed a financial privacy coordinator, Martin G. Noble, EVP, who is responsible for maintaining internal procedures to ensure that our customers' information is protected. For example, employees who work in the loan origination or loan operations departments can only access information in loan files.

All employees have a copy of this policy and are trained at least annually regarding the importance of safeguarding customer information. The financial privacy coordinator, the human resources director, and the appropriate department manager will take disciplinary action against any employee who violates the bank's privacy policy and procedures.

If we change our policy or practice by, for example, adding a category of information that we will disclose to a third party, we will notify existing customers and give them an appropriate time period to opt out of the disclosure.

If you decide to close your accounts(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this notice.
